SANITATION DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The City of Chubbuck Sanitation Department is in charge of collecting and hauling solid waste and recyclables from both residential and commercial properties to help maintain a clean and safe environment for the citizens of Chubbuck.  Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.
VOLUNTARY RECYCLING PROGRAM OFFERED TO RESIDENTS
The City of Chubbuck is offering recycling services to any resident who wishes to participate.  The details of the recycling plan are listed below;
bullet Each participating household will receive a 96-gallon cart in a different color than the regular garbage cart.
bullet Recycling carts are emptied on the 1st and 3rd or 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month, with no service on a 5th Tuesday, if it occurs.
bullet Each recycling cart will have a charge of $5.00 per month for this service.
bullet Acceptable: paper (cardboard, office/computer paper, newspapers, magazines, phone books), aluminum, copper, brass, radiators, tin cans and household plastics (#1 through #7) could be mixed in the container.
bullet NOT acceptable: batteries, oil, glass, chemical bottles, hardback books, lead, steel, iron, appliances, auto exteriors and tires.
If you are interested in receiving this service, please download, complete and sign the Recycling Sign Up Form.   A five dollar monthly fee will be added to your existing utility bill.  Turn in completed forms with your utility bill or at Chubbuck City Hall.
The City also offers bulk recycling drop-off containers at Chubbuck City Hall and Chubbuck Elementary School.  The same requirements for acceptable recylable materials applies to these larger containers as to the residential carts listed above.  There is no charge for this service.
CITY OF CHUBBUCK GARBAGE COLLECTION INFORMATION
Requirements for use of garbage collection carts;
bullet DO: place all of your trash inside the cart
bullet DO: keep the lid closed at all times
bullet DO: place the cart as close to the curb as possible on collection day at 7:00 AM
bullet DO: remove the cart from the roadside when empty
bullet DO: read instructions for collection day schedules in your neighborhood
bullet DO: use toe hold at the bottom of the cart to ease tilting of loaded cart
bullet DO NOT: put hazardous waste, paint cans, oil, hot ashes or flammables in the cart
bullet DO NOT: put residential or commercial construction debris in the cart
bullet DO NOT: overfill the cart or pack garbage tightly into the cart
bullet DO NOT: paint, write on or in any other way vandalize or alter the cart
bullet DO NOT: remove the cart from your residence for any reason
bullet DO NOT: obstruct collection of your cart by parking vehicles too close
In general, remember that garbage collection carts are the property of the City of Chubbuck and are provided to you on a rental basis.  Any items that are too large to fit in a collection container must be appropriately disposed of by the property owner.  Refuse that spils from or is left beside the collection container will not be collected and is the responsibilty of the resident.

What is the garbage collection schedule for the City?
The sanitation department collects garbage Monday through Friday year round.  We also collect recyclables on alternating Tuesdays.  Please view collection map to determine collection day for your address.  Collection will not be made on Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Years and collection for week of holiday may be one day late.
Who do I contact regarding missed pickup or other issues?
Please contact the City Public Works Office via email or phone at 237-2430 with questions, comments or complaints regarding garbage collection service.  In addition, you may view the garbage collection billing information online.
Who do I contact to get garbage collection containers?
Please contact the Clerks Office via email or phone at 237-2400 with requests for new, additional or replacement collection containers.  The Clerks Office also handles all utility billing questions or disputes including City sanitation.
