Chubbuck Animal Control Facility
ANIMAL CONTROL MISSION STATEMENT
The City of Chubbuck is not only concerned about our citizens, we are concerned about the safety and well being of our animal friends too.  The Animal Control Division strives to ensure that animals are being treated humanely and that all local, state and federal laws concerning animals are being followed.  We also provide adoption services for stray or unwanted animals in order to place them in a loving household.
We encourage all current or prospective pet owners to educate themselves in regards to the proper care of their animals.  An example of this type of reference is the Walter's Pet Reference Guide which is offered here for free download.
ANIMAL CONTROL FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Where is the facility located and what are the hours?
The shelter hours are 9:30 to 10:30 am and 3:00 to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.  The animal shelter is located in the compound behind Chubbuck City Hall.   During open hours, go through the gate located on the north side of city hall, drive forward approximately 75 yards and the shelter will be to your left.
What if animals are in my yard, noisy or mistreated?
You have multiple options.  First, you can call dispatch and either the animal control officer or a patrol officer will respond.  Second, you can email the animal control division by clicking on the link at the top of this page.  Finally, you can submit an anonymous report online.  It should be noted that the last two options may not result in an immediate response.
What are the adoption, impound and release fees?
The fees for adoption are $10 for a cat and $30 for a dog.   All adopted animals must also be spayed or neutered - discount coupons are available.   If your animal is running at large, the capture fee is $30, the impound fee is $25 and a boarding fee of $5 per day is imposed for animals impounded longer than 60 hours.   In addition, if this is the second time your animal has been captured and/or impounded in a six month period, the fees double.   The fee to release animals into shelter care is $20 per animal over eight weeks of age or $40 for any number of animals under eight weeks of age.
